Grant renewal marks second year in partnership between NBA Foundation and America On Tech NEW YORK CITY - August 8, 2023- America On Tech (AOT) is excited to announce that it has been selected as a grantee by the NBA Foundation for the second year in a row. The Foundation has agreed to make a substantial contribution to AOT over a two-year period that will make a significant impact on their work to provide educational and career development opportunities to students in New York City, Los Angeles, and Miami. Established in 2020 with a $300 million commitment over 10 years by all 30 NBA team governors, the NBA Foundation is focused on driving economic opportunity in the Black community.
“America on Tech has made tremendous strides in guiding young people to meaningful career pathways in the ever-growing technology industry,” said NBA Foundation Executive Director Greg Taylor. “The NBA Foundation is proud to build upon our investment in these programs and we look forward to being a small part of the organization’s continued impact on Black youth.” AOT is a national nonprofit dedicated to decreasing the racial wealth gap by providing equitable pathways into technology, with an emphasis on Black youth and other students of color. To-date, AOT has served more than 4,500 young people by providing tech training, professional development, mentorship and access to internships and full-time job opportunities. With the renewed support of the NBA Foundation, AOT will use the grant funds to further innovate and expand its reach within the greater New York City, Los Angeles, and Miami regions. “America On Tech is excited to have been renewed as a grantee as part of the NBA Foundation’s ninth round of grant recipients.
