America On Tech Launches First Ever Fellowship Program in Digital Marketing: Meet the AOT Fellows!

​AOT is excited to announce its first ever Digital Marketing Fellowship which will give 15 of AOT alums the opportunity to learn about digital marketing in a six week fellowship program that kicks off in March 2021. Through this fellowship, Digital Marketing Fellows will learn fundamentals of the field, have weekly mentorship meetings with Digital Marketing professionals and, at the conclusion of the program, have a chance to take a Digital Marketing certification exam. ​

Our fellows attend 14 different colleges / universities, 60% of them are first year college students while 27% of the fellows are third year college students, the remainder are second year and fourth year college students.  Over 47% of our fellows are African Americans, 33% are Asians and over 20% identify as Latinx or Caribbean; 87% of our fellows are women, 7% are men and 7% are non-binary.  Meet our fellows below:

Noushin Anika is a first year college student at CUNY Queens College.  She intends to major in Media Studies.  Through this fellowship she hopes to hone her skills in digital marketing to prepare her for a future career in this field.

Marlyatou Barry is a first year college student at Smith College.  She intends to major in computer science.  She is interested in exploring digital marketing as a career.

Yadira Cruz is a junior at Bowdoin College, the AOT Alumni Council Vice President and an AOT Peer Mentor.  She is majoring in Computer Science/Digital and Computation Studies.  She is interested in exploring the intersectionality within the tech field, and digital marketing is a field that she has been interested in but didn't know where to start learning about prior to this fellowship. ​

Diana Diakité is a first year college student at City College of New York.  She intends to major in Computer Science.  She became interested in digital marketing when she visited a digital marketing agency early last year as part of a career day. She looks forward to meeting digital marketers to see if this is the career route she would like to pursue.

Laila Dola is a first year college student at CUNY Hunter College.  She intends to major in Media Studies with a concentration on Emerging Media.  She is interested in digital marketing because it offers her the chance to apply her interest in writing, technology, and creativity in a businesslike setting. She is interested in pursuing a career that allows her to utilize these three areas of interest.

Shruti Gupta is a third year college student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.  She is majoring in Computer Science and Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences.  She is interested in digital marketing because she wants to build her own brand.

Leeann Herbert is a sophomore at University at Buffalo.  She is majoring in Information Tech and Management.  She wants to broaden her knowledge in digital marketing to explore options for producing digital media content. ​

Corine Houngninou is a first year college student at Howard University.  She intends to major in Computer Information Systems. She became interested in marketing during her first semester at Howard University.  She is looking forward to learning digital marketing and the possibilities within this career path. She will be interning at Hubspot as a marketing intern this summer.

Dandre Johnson is a first year college student at SUNY Buffalo State and an AOT Peer Mentor.  He intends to major in Computer Information Systems.  He is interested in digital marketing to gain more professional experiences and to learn more about this rapidly growing field.  ​

Josephine Man is a first year college student at Vassar College and AOT Alumni Council Communications Officer.  She intends to major in Computer Science.  She is interested in gaining insight into the digital marketing industry as a prospective career choice and to learn more about digital marketing trends, especially as a consumer of social media.

Samara McCallum is a junior at Carnegie Mellon University and AOT Alumni Council President.  She is majoring in Information Systems (Computer Science & Business) & Film and Visual Media.  She became interested in digital marketing due to a course she took on Digital Marketing as a college student which made her realize her genuine interest in this industry.  She is interested in diving directly into the professional/career world of Digital Marketing upon completion of the fellowship.

Rosa Olguin is a third year college student at Vassar College.  She is majoring in Computer Science and Japanese.  She is interested in digital marketing to make herself more marketable and well rounded as a candidate for opportunities in the future.  ​

Kenya Pascascio is a senior at Dartmouth College.  She is majoring in Engineering: Mechanical/Structural/Design.  She is interested in digital marketing as a way of learning how to combine her Engineering background, liberal arts education and extracurriculars in a really unique and exciting way.  ​

Tasfia Sultana is a first year college student at Syracuse University, AOT Alumni Council Administrative Officer and an AOT Peer Mentor.  She intended to major in Computer Science.  She has always been interested in learning about the world of digital marketing and expanding her knowledge in this field to possibly find a new career passion that she can pursue alongside computer science.

Irina Zoccolini is a first year college student at MIT.  She intends to major in Computer Science.  Though she has never taken a course in digital marketing she has always been curious how companies come up with advertisement ideas that stick.  She would like to explore and learn more about this field within the tech industry.
