America On Tech has appointed Laurie Becker, President of E.P. Dine, to its Board of Directors. About Laurie Becker
Laurie Becker is the President of E.P. Dine, a leading legal executive recruiting firm in New York City. Laurie has been with the firm since 1991. Prior to joining EP Dine, Laurie practiced law with a national law firm and was the General Counsel of a publicly traded company in New York. Laurie received her A.B. From Washington University and her J.D. from Boston University Law School. Why did you get involved with America On Tech? I joined America On Tech after I had the opportunity to get to know Evin and Jessica and see the organization in action. The Beacon Group, my women’s giving circle, invited AOT to apply for a grant in 2018 and I conducted a site visit. My partner and I were blown away by the quality of instruction, the engagement of the students and the students themselves. If you’ve ever met Evin and Jessica, you know that your job is to just stand behind them and do whatever you can to support them. They are amazing! What legacy do you hope to leave as a member of the board? I have absolutely no tech skills but I am a corporate lawyer by training and have been running a business for a long time. My skill set is complementary. I also think that I have relationships in the legal community that we can leverage for AOT. What do you hope for the future success of America On Tech's students? I have no doubt that AOT’s students will go on to college and have successful professional lives. AOT’s approach is holistic and these students are learning so much more than tech skills. My hope and expectation is that they will find a way to give a hand to the next kid, the kid after that and continue to pay it forward. ------------------------------------ About America On Tech America On Tech (AOT) is an award-winning nonprofit organization on a mission to prepare the next generation of technology leaders by creating pathways into degrees and careers in technology.
