America On Tech and NBCUniversal partnered to host a series of fireside chats for AOT’s Los Angeles Tech Flex Leaders this fall. NBCUniversal is one of the world’s leading media and entertainment companies in the development, production, and marketing of entertainment, news and information to a global audience. For these fireside chats, AOT was joined by 4 NBCUniversal professionals who spoke to our LA students about their career journeys and professional insights. In total, 88 Tech Flex Leaders attended the series. AOT staff and NBCU team members led a total of four, hour-long sessions for Alliance MIT and STEM Prep students. For the first 50 minutes, each of the NBCU professionals were asked a list of questions that targeted their personal and professional journeys, which gave students the opportunity to learn more about them. The sessions concluded with a Q&A session, where students were able to gain direct insight into college and career success. Moonie Lantion, Director, Digital Technology Products at NBCUniversal Media, LLC and John Corser, Senior Vice President, Production & Production Technology at NBCUniversal Media, LLC spoke with Alliance MIT students during two separate fireside chats. These students were excited to hear about the digital aspect of technology on top of learning about the film industry. Anthony Anderson, Senior Director, Film Security at Universal Pictures and Andrea Avila Weiler, Senior Director, New Technology at Universal Pictures spoke with STEM Prep students during two separate fireside chats. These students were given insight into the media and entertainment industry and were intrigued by how content security technology works. Overall, the LA speaker series was very powerful and engaging. As an end result, students were able to learn and network with tech professionals. We thank NBCUniversal for their continued partnership and support! About America On Tech
