I’m a product of the NYC public school system, graduating from PS31, IS61 and Curtis High School, so the idea of helping to bring opportunity to driven, deserving young people in underserved communities resonates with me. I come from a family who believes strongly in education, as well as community service. Now with over two decades of professional experience working with and leading technical operations, the opportunity to partner with America On Tech felt like the perfect way to combine my personal journey with my professional experience to help to benefit the next generation of technical influencers and leaders. I believe that when we invest in giving young people educational opportunities, especially in underserved communities, we can help inspire hope and encourage drive that often delivers extraordinary results. When those educational opportunities are tech-based and teach highly desirable skills to those same young people, we can enable empowerment, accelerate change and foster exciting innovation within our communities and in businesses like NBCUniversal. What legacy do you hope to leave as a member of the board? I hope to be able to add value working in partnership with an impressive group of fellow National Board Members to enhance and support the honorable mission that the incredible co-founders, Jessica Santana and Evin Robinson have set out to enable, positively impacting the opportunity landscape for a younger generation to find success in technical education and employment. I hope to help to expand the footprint and reach of America On Tech and deliver material educational and career opportunities for our students with NBCUniversal. I am also excited to leverage my professional network to educate, inspire and onboard further corporate sponsorship and employment opportunities within some of the great tech companies that I’ve been able to partner with and develop meaningful relationships with over the years. With the simple goal of reaching as many passionate and deserving students as possible. What do you hope for the future success of America On Tech's students? I hope that by extending opportunities to the students of America On Tech, we will be able to educate and inspire a younger generation to fulfill their professional and personal dreams. It’s such an exciting time for technical innovation in business and an early start can really make a difference, opening up opportunities for employment and career acceleration for tech savvy youth like never before. I hope that we can light the spark in some of our students to believe in themselves and the fact that through responsible, socially conscious technical innovation we can continue to ensure that the new normal is always better than the old normal.
