Beginning her career in k-12 education, Ashley is a lifelong learner dedicated to understanding intersectional issues and the impact of power, privilege and oppression on Black and Brown communities. After leaving the classroom, Ashley engaged with various organizations in the West Philadelphia community, focusing on culturally responsive civic engagement. This theme, along with exploration of identity, shows up across her portfolio, aligning her goals of fostering and expanding social parity. Ashley has worked with various organizations here in New York, including the Michael J. Fox Foundation, ExpandED and Solar One, combining her passion for DEIA workshop facilitation and culturally responsive curriculum development. Ashley holds an MSEd in higher education from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in history from The Ohio State University. Given her various backgrounds, Ashley is excited to begin work with underestimated students interested in the technology sector.
