We are seeking a Regional Director of Development to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. As the Regional Director of Development, you will be responsible for leading and implementing AOT's fundraising strategy in the Los Angeles region. This person will report to the National Director of Development & Partnerships and manage fundraising activities in the Los Angeles region. You will also work closely with the CEO, LA Regional Advisory Board, and national development team to advance AOT's mission and achieve our fundraising goals for LA.

Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a Regional Director of Development to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. As the Regional Director of Development, you will be responsible for leading and implementing AOT's fundraising strategy in the Los Angeles region. This person will report to the National Director of Development & Partnerships and manage fundraising activities in the Los Angeles region. You will also work closely with the CEO, LA Regional Advisory Board, and national development team to advance AOT's mission and achieve our fundraising goals for LA.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet the Los Angeles region revenue goal of $1.4M, including major gifts, grants, corporate partnerships, and special events.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with individuals, foundations, and corporate donors to secure major gifts and sponsorships.
- Work with AOT's Marketing and Communications team to develop donor communications, including appeals, newsletters, and annual reports.
- Collaborate with the CEO, Regional Advisory Board and Development team to identify and cultivate new donors and increase AOT's visibility in the community.
- Plan and execute fundraising events, including the LA Innovators and Disruptors Awards, donor appreciation events, site visits, and other special events.
- Oversee all LA-based grant proposals and reports to ensure they are completed accurately and submitted on time by our grant writer.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in AOT's donor database, and provide regular reports to the leadership team, Regional Advisory Board and National Board of Directors.
- Manage the LA Regional Advisory Board

Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Highly autonomous and able to provide support to supervisors; amazing problem-solver; able to identify solutions around barriers for both self and the Development team.
- Proven track record of building relationships and inspiring people to take action; Comfort soliciting five-figure or above gifts
- Experience cultivating and sustaining relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully on the phone, via email/text, and in-person with donors, board members, volunteers, staff, and the public.
- Passion for technology education
- Experience with Salesforce (or equivalent donor database) preferred.
Nice to Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree; Comparable experience will also be considered
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Monday.com, Google Suite
