John’s career began at the YMCA in Long Beach, CA, where he excelled as a leader in after-school, digital media arts, and youth development programming. During this time, he played a key role in consulting on the replication of the YMCA Youth Institute program, enhancing its reach and impact. Following his tenure at the YMCA, John transitioned to an elementary school setting as a STEM & Arts teacher. There, he crafted dynamic and interactive projects that ignited students' curiosity and fostered their learning in meaningful ways. His most recent role as a Program Manager at a pediatric cancer organization showcased his expertise in managing administrative tasks and educational goals within the photography program. His efforts were instrumental in increasing students' self-efficacy and their appreciation for the arts. John holds a BA in Digital Media Arts with an Audio Recording option from California State University, Dominguez Hills, underscoring his blend of artistic and technical skills. His passion for educating and inspiring young minds continues to drive his work. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time at the beach, engaging with friends, and competing in flag football leagues.
