About AOT’s Technical Fellowships
The Tech Skills Fellowship program provides AOT alumni with comprehensive preparation for successful technology careers. This structured program combines technical training, professional development, and hands-on experience to position participants for success in their chosen technology fields. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to take the associated professional certification test. The program also facilitates access to internship and full time opportunities that strengthen participants, qualifications and enhance their employment prospects.

​Program Objectives

The Alumni Tech Skills Fellowship is structured to deliver three core outcomes:

Technical Foundation Building

​Participants master fundamental concepts and gain practical experience with key technologies and methodologies specific to their chosen specialization area.

​Portfolio Development

​Fellows create comprehensive individual portfolios that effectively
demonstrate their capabilities and technical proficiency to prospective employers.

​Industry Integration

​The program provides direct access to technology industry professionals, creating opportunities for strategic networking, internship placements, and entry-level position referrals within the tech sector.

Specialized Tracks

Each track is a year-long program that mirrors the academic year. Students may apply to
both programs but will be admitted to only one.

Data Science

Eligibility
Students who have successfully completed Tech Flex Leaders and/or TECH360 and who are enrolled in a college or university may apply for a technical fellowship. We also consider students who are taking a gap year and students who have graduated within 6 months of the start of the program.

​While NYC- and LA-based AOT alumni are eligible for the Data Science track, only NYC-based alumni are eligible for the Cybersecurity track.
