MAKENNA NOEL
AOT ALUM AND AOT CYBERSECURITY FELLOW Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Class of 2024, Computer Science and Computer Engineering Major I was interested in joining America On Tech x NBCU's Cybersecurity Fellowship to learn how to protect the systems I create as a computer systems engineering student. I was among many passionate students in the program given the opportunity to learn the basics of networking and cybersecurity. One highlights of the experience was completing the tabletop exercise about the SolarWinds attack towards the end of the course, where we applied and presented the principles we learned. I received an offer to work as an intern at Boeing. As an intern on Boeing's BCA Cybersecurity Team, I could apply the knowledge I learned from America On Tech's Cybersecurity Fellowship, my courses at school, and the passion projects I worked on to real-world issues.
