Mona Thong is a Managing Director at RBC Capital Markets where she oversees the Credit Approval in the Communications, Media and Entertainment, Aerospace and Defense sectors in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. She has held several positions at RBC’s Toronto and New York offices in market risk, structured finance, and corporate banking. Mona attended the PhD program at the University of Waterloo, and holds an MSc in Mathematics and Statistics and an MA in Economics from the University of Guelph. Why did you get involved with America On Tech? I had been searching for a non-profit board to join and was introduced to America On Tech (AOT). Upon learning more about the organization, followed by my meetings with AOT’s Co-Founders, Evin Robinson and Jessica Santana, it solidified my decision to join the AOT Board. I was impressed by how genuine, smart, and professional Evin and Jessica are, and by their conviction and desire to build AOT and to help underserved communities. This made me even more excited about helping AOT and furthering the cause of this organization. What legacy do you hope to leave as a member of the board? My hope is to help AOT expand their reach in schools and communities to deliver training to students in more areas/states and to increase collaborations in sponsorships and partnerships. What do you hope for the future success of America On Tech’s students?
