One of the core pillars of our Tech Flex Leaders program is to give our students the opportunity to meet and network with industry professionals across different industries and tech centered careers so they are aware of the career options that are available to them.  In continuing with this goal we hosted a career day for our Tech Flex Leaders with our long term partner BNY Mellon on March 25, 2021!
BNY Mellon is a global investments company dedicated to helping its clients manage and service their financial assets throughout the investment lifecycle. They are investing in cutting-edge fintech technologies and work with the best and brightest emerging technology startups to build innovative solutions for their clients. By partnering with BNY Mellon for this career day we were able to introduce our students to the technology and innovation that powers the financial industry.

During our Career Day event we were joined by six BNY Mellon employees who shared their guidance and career advice with 19 Tech Flex Leaders in attendance.  What made this event special was that we were also joined by BNY Mellon’s HR Recruiter who shared details about their college internship program and tips on how to stand out as candidates for internships.  The event also included an hour long, robust discussion with a diverse group of panelists who shared their own stories about non-traditional pathways they took to get to where they are in their careers today.  The resounding advice that all panelists shared with our students was not to stress too much about where you want to end up, but to learn and explore your interests and keep an open mind.

We are thankful for the BNY Team for joining our students for this conversation and sharing their stories and wisdom.
